France - Paris - Arc de Triomphe - Napoleon's Triumphal Arch
Requested by Napoleon in 1806, but completed in 1836.
The Arc de Triomphe is engraved with names of generals who commanded French troops during Napoleon's regime.
Other reliefs are showing Napoleon's famous battles.
The design is based on the Arch of Titus in Rome, close to the colosseum, but much bigger (50m versus 15m).
About the photo. Photo taken directly from under the arc.
First, 3 shots (-2,0,2) process in Photomatix
Second, same as for detail 03, the clouds pattern on one side of the photo were simply inadequate, I have copied and correct the clouds from the other side, to enhance the overall symmetry of the picture
Third, process in photoshop to obtain a more vintage look-alike.
